Carla Tarruella (Barcelona, 1966), whose work is exhibited at the Vilacasas Foundation and the Lluís Corominas Foundation, has developed a unique creative process. The Catalan artist is an expressionist-abstract painter with influences from artists such as Klee, Munch, Nicolas de Staël, Josef Albers, and Gao Xingjian among others. Her work, sometimes provocative, sometimes of stillness and peace, contrasts order and disorder, geometry and abstraction
She also uses figures or human faces to suggest the theme of the individual versus the entity.
