From a game of transparency and brightness, Carla Tarruella's paintings interrelate with space and light in a changing way. Her technique is based on evaporation and unevenness to draw with the natural pigments, which she deposits in the right place through the manipulation of gravity and time, fixing them with resin at the end.

"It's good when art makes us believe in chance."

Carla's technique uses this game. What seems unforeseen is full of intention, delicacy, and concreteness. "You could say that listening is one of the keys to this new language. But also restraint and waiting, finding the precise moment for the intervention: calm and time are fundamental. It is only in slowness and lackness that I can be present".

Kafka said there is only truth in art, and that state of truth is the one that breathes the work of Carla Tarruella, a state that transcends the will of the author herself to elevate her to a mere spectator of that miracle that is the revelation in art.

(...) Her technique, like her, is brave, on a steady path. She makes use of it making it go with infinite curiosity and respect, listening to it. In each work she "dances" with her colors, she enters into that flirtation in which she moves with ease and where she feels more confident. It begins as a game, something pushes her to begin, and after that first stage she "arrives at the bottom of her soul" to finish exhausted, to then end the process of resin in her last stage. The watery aspect of the material creates that sensation of total immersion in the work and the resin, to which she arrives after that tireless re-finding. She satisfies her desire to communicate. After the suspense, she arrives at the last stage of the work, the moment in which the reencounter takes place. (...)

(...) "Carla Tarruella proposes a new look, a new experience transferred to color, texture, form, and sensation. On this occasion, she proposes an abstract journey, a trip to unknown islands, to lands seen from the sky, from distant planes that mark impossible geographies, rivers, mountains, crop fields, horizons, even banners and flags of invented countries (...) Samples and snippets of material beauty, brushstrokes and textures serve the artist to show us from her vital seismograph where her sensations go, the vibrations of her pictorial territory. Carla Tarruella discovers a new path of what we already knew -colors and plots above all- but this time, she brings greater courage, conviction and passion as never before. This exhibition stands as a new stop on the way, a lost island in Tarruella's personal sea, who takes advantage of the opportunity to talk to the viewer and affirm the step forward that, little by little, is straightening the artist towards her pictorial maturity".
